The FIE Research Group is affiliated with the Fisheries Oceanography Laboratory at the Ocean University of China, led by Professor Peng Sun. ased on the latest research concepts and methodologies in fisheries science, fisheries resource biology, evolutionary ecology, and quantitative genetics, the group explores the relationship between the temporal effects of fishing pressure and the plasticity (or irreversibility) of fish phenotypic traits using modeling and experimental ecological approaches. Simultaneously, the research investigates the impact of different fishing strategies on the phenotypic traits of fish populations, further validating whether fishing is a significant driving force behind the evolution of fish phenotypic traits. Addressing this fundamental scientific question aims to provide innovative management concepts for fisheries management in China. Our research group welcomes applications from domestic and international master’s and doctoral students. If you are interested in our research and possess talents in programming, mathematical modeling, physical oceanography, bioinformatics, or other fisheries and oceanography-related fields, please feel free to contact us via the email provided below.
